CBSE organises Interactive Talkathon on "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" after clarion call by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Sep 21: Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi had given a clarion call on 2nd August, 2026 for Nasha Mukta Bharat by eradicating the menace of drugs and intoxicants. In pursuance of this vision, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today organised a special 45-minute interactive Talkathon on the theme of "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat", bringing together experts, educators and students for an open conversation on substance-abuse prevention and the importance of making healthy and responsible choices.

Objective and Concept of Talkathon

At the core of this innovative initiative to engage directly with students through social media platforms like X, Instagram and YouTube, lies the idea, that for realising the vision of Viksit Bharat at 2047, it is pertinent to have a strong foundation in these children and young adults who will be the youth of tomorrow taking forward the mantle of Viksit Bharat.

CBSE invited questions on popular social media platforms from students on the subject using hashtags #NashaMuktYuva and #CBSETalkathon. The expert panel who answered the questions comprised of Prof. (Dr.) Nand Kumar, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi, Ms. Alka Awasthi, Principal, Mayoor School, Noida and Dr. Anees C., Additional Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, New Delhi.

The show was hosted by two young students, Ms. Samiya, a Class XII from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 4, R.K. Puram, Delhi, and Mr. Rohit Singh, a Class XII student of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Delhi Cantt. The technical, production and logistical support was provided by the National Public Broadcaster, DD News.

The questions raised included apprehensions about mental health, how to overcome peer pressure, vital steps for de-addiction etc. The panelists gave a patient hearing to the queries, as they came live on the social media platforms.

Strong Connect with Youngsters

Striking a strong connect with the youngsters, the subject received an encouraging response on social media platforms with #CBSETalkathon trending at #1 in India during the program addressing the curiosity of youngsters.
